NTSA Endorses 4 Companies to Operate as Transport Network Companies in Kenya
Uber, Bolt, Little Cab, and Yego Mobility are the only transport network companies with licenses to operate in Kenya after fully meeting all licensing standards, according to the National Transport and Safety Authority.
The four businesses have been given permission to function as transport network firms in Kenya, according to a statement from Director General George Njao.
“The following companies have been licensed to operate as transport network companies,” he added. “In carrying out its mandate and in compliance with the requirements of the NTSA Transport Network Companies, Drivers and Passenger Rules 2022.”
The Authority’s mandate calls for it to coordinate the activities of the major departments involved in road transport and aid in its efficient management.
Since some taxi drivers chose longer routes in an effort to charge higher fees, customers have expressed concerns about both their physical and financial safety.
The authority subsequently requested that all present and future Digital Hailing Companies that were interested in applying for licenses as Transport Network Companies submit their applications by October 17.
