WhatsApp Launches Pinned Messages for Individual and Group Chats
A new feature that allows users to pin messages in chats to quickly find significant conversations is being rolled out by WhatsApp.
Users can utilize this feature to pin a particular message to the top of individual or group chats by highlighting it. For a maximum of 30 days, a message can be pinned in the chat. You can pin any type of message, including text, polls, and emoticons. Users are limited to one pinned chat at a time, though.
The instant messaging program WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, revealed on Tuesday, December 13, that Pinned Messages had been added. With this feature, users can pin a particular message to the top of any ongoing group or one-on-one conversation. This would be ideal for pointing to important details like address, date or phone number and offering quick reference to older messages.
By long-pressing on a conversation and choosing Pin from the menu, users can pin a chat. A message in the chat window can be pinned for one month, seven days, or twenty-four hours; seven days is the default. You can pin any kind of information, including files, movies, polls, images, emojis, and text messages. Admins of WhatsApp groups have the option of allowing only other admins or members to pin messages. Users can unpin these messages at any moment, just like they always have.
Telegram and iMessage, WhatsApp’s rivals in the messaging market, already have a pin message feature. Prior to now, the Android 2.23.21.4 WhatsApp beta had this update visible.
Recently, Meta has added a lot of features to its instant messaging service. Recently, WhatsApp revealed the ability to view voice communications once. With the help of this feature, users can transmit voice messages that, after they are heard by the recipient, vanish. It’s also said that WhatsApp is developing a new function that would enable users to post HD photos and movies in their status updates. Moreover, it is rumored to be working on an optional feature that would enable users to post their WhatsApp status updates straight to Instagram.
