Uncap Announces Application for Early-stage Capital for Start-ups in Africa
Start-up companies are encouraged to apply for the possibility to obtain early-stage financing ranging between 10,000 EUR and 50,000 EUR through Uncap, an award-winning platform designed to give African entrepreneurs access to early-stage funding.
Uncap was established in 2019 with the intention of enabling all deserving founders in sub-Saharan Africa to access early-stage investment. Access to early-stage finance, which is unevenly dispersed and severely prejudiced in regard to gender, education, and region, is one of the obstacles to equal opportunity in business growth.
According to Esther Ndeti, Investment Principal at Uncap, “Our goal is to empower female founders to have an egalitarian experience by redefining their fundraising path through Uncap’s automated, inclusive, and data-driven methodology.”
Uncap was established to provide a special and cutting-edge new method of supporting early-stage business owners through a remote, data-driven, and largely automated procedure. Its goal is to give talented business owners, regardless of their gender, educational level, social standing, or region, access to the financing they need to succeed. Empowering female entrepreneurs, who are underrepresented in numerous industries, is one of Uncap’s key objectives.
Uncap invested in 27 enterprises in 2020, and from more than 800 complete applications, 70 offers were made in 2021. It intends to more than quadruple last year’s amount this year. Uncap previously left Ava Juliet Productions in 2022 for the first time.
“Uncap assisted with the pandemic expansion of my media production company. Nathan Magoola, the creator and content producer of Ava Juliet Productions, explains that I needed the money for operations, salaries, equipment, and insurance. The flexible repayment plan offered by Uncap, which was based on my revenue performance, stood out to me.
On the online application form, businesses can request money from Uncap. Applicants only set up an account and provide their company information. They will be informed if they have been shortlisted after the application procedure, which entails a variety of cognitive and personality tests, business skills, and financial insights, is finished. Once the investment contract is signed, they have access to resources as well as automatic KPI analysis. The selected founders will also become a part of, and have access to, Uncap’s growing network of entrepreneurs.
According to Franziska Reh, CEO, and creator of Uncap, “We are now working on augmenting our support for entrepreneurs with tools to diagnose your existing deficiencies, access to the appropriate resources and support providers, as well as perhaps soon, automated connections with follow-on finance.
The application period begins on July 18 and lasts through September 16. Sign up right away to take part in Uncap’s fundraising revolution and have access to capital for startup companies.
Applicants must have a scalable business strategy, be registered as limited companies with headquarters in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, or Nigeria, have at least 12 months of revenue traction, and meet other requirements in order to be considered for funding. All founders are welcome to apply, not just those in the technology industry.
