SundryAgro: The Future of Personalized Grocery Shopping in Nigeria
In today’s fast-paced world, young adults juggle commuting to demanding jobs, managing side hustles, and maintaining personal lives. With the economic realities affecting transportation and fuel costs, grocery shopping has become increasingly expensive and time-consuming, often leading to unhealthy eating habits. There is a clear need for a technology-powered solution to help people cut costs, make healthy meals, and save time from the comfort of their homes.
SundryAgro, a grocery marketplace, aims to solve these challenges by providing personalized online shopping and last-mile delivery for urban city dwellers in Nigeria. By offering a personalized shopping experience, SundryAgro empowers people to live convenient and healthier lives.
SundryAgro’s ideal customers are middle to upper-class Nigerians, primarily women working full-time who want to provide healthy meals for their families but lack the time for grocery shopping. This constitutes a total addressable market of over 40 million people and a serviceable market of over 6 million people who spend $2 billion annually on food and farm produce.
Since its official launch in May 2023, SundryAgro has acquired over 150 active users and generated over $8,000 in lifetime revenues. By exposing their products to a new market as vendors, SundryAgro has supported over 200 smallholder farmers, helping their businesses grow and reducing post-harvest losses. Additionally, SundryAgro has provided part-time jobs for young people, mostly women who work as Personal Shoppers and currently live on less than $5 per day.
Currently, all SundryAgro clients are residents of Lagos State, with plans to expand into Port Harcourt, Abuja, Kano, and Ibadan within the next 3-5 years. This expansion aims to support at least 500 smallholder farmers and provide jobs to at least 1,000 youths in Nigeria.
SundryAgro is post-launch and revenue-generating, though still in the early stages of market entry. The business is run by a team of 7, including 2 co-founders with a combined 20 years of experience in the agricultural and e-commerce sectors.
Investors interested in SundryAgro are invited to forge equity partnerships, as an investment in SundryAgro is an investment in food security and accessibility for urban Nigerians.
