Samsung has finally added one of the most often requested features to its Internet browser
Even though it lacks a few key capabilities, Samsung’s Internet browser improves with each iteration. We revealed earlier this month that Samsung is testing a few features with the beta version of the browser, but there was no indication of when they would be made available to everyone.
It appears that today is the day that Samsung Internet users will receive what we have been anticipating since the beginning of the month. According to an MSPU reader, the update includes one of the most frequently requested features: the option to shift the URL bar at the bottom of the screen.
The UI structure coincidentally resembles that of Safari on iOS 15, but the main point is that the capability is present, and Samsung users may take advantage of it. However, this is not the only change in the current version.
The official changelog also shows a few additional major enhancements that either improve the browser’s usability or security. The Smart Anti-Tracking function, for example, has been improved to prevent tracking by employing small pixel pictures. The same is true for the search experience in the URL bar, which now offers search suggestions as you type search terms into the URL bar.
If you own a Samsung smartphone, you should be able to download the latest update via the Galaxy Store, but the app is listed in the Google Play Store as well.
