Kenyan startups now have access to grants of up to $113k
Kenyan startups have been invited to apply for grants of up to EUR100,000 (US$113,000) from the develoPPP Ventures programme’s second cohort.
DEG – Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH – launched the develoPPP Ventures program earlier this year on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development.
It aims to empower startups by providing entrepreneurial support and a grant of up to EUR100,000 for growth investments. It is looking for startups in developing or emerging countries with innovative business models and long-term economic, ecological, or social impact.
Startups that apply must have completed a proof of concept and be ready to scale.
develoPPP Ventures began in Kenya, but the program will be gradually expanded to include more countries. Seedstars, an impact investment specialist, and NaiLab, a business incubator, are assisting with the rollout in Kenya.
Until December 31, startups can apply here.
