Apply for the South African Engen’s $67k startup pitching competition
Engen, a South African petroleum company, has opened applications for its Pitch & Polish pitching competition, in which 16 entrepreneurs will compete for a ZAR1 million (US$67,000) first prize.
Pitch & Polish, now in its 12th year, went fully virtual for the first time in 2021, when Cape Town-based business partners Pieter du Plessis and Viljoen de Kock, owners of GUDGU, won first place.
This year’s competition will be held online once again, with contestants having access to a structured learning program as well as their own business mentors. Throughout the program, the entrepreneurs will be assisted in honing and improving their pitches.
The winning company will receive a grand prize of ZAR650,000 (US$43,000) in cash and a Raizcorp incubation bursary of ZAR350,000 (US$24,000). Entrepreneurs with a registered business from all over South Africa can apply here until April 11.
