HiiL Announces the 2023 Justice Entrepreneurship School to Aid Nigerian Startups with a Justice Focus
The 2023 Justice Entrepreneurship School (JES), an incubation program created to support late-stage ideation or incubation-stage startups with solutions to Nigeria’s urgent justice issues, has opened its application process.
HiiL, The Hague Institute for Innovation of Law, is a leading organization in the justice innovation space.
The program’s goal is to empower business owners by giving them the resources and information necessary to develop original, customer-focused solutions for Nigeria’s justice problems. Over 20 firms in Nigeria have received funding from HiiL’s JES since 2021, including Legalnaija, SealedApp, AjoBank, and the Restorative Justice for Africa Initiative.
The program focuses on a variety of justice-related issues, including those that were identified in its newly released Justice Needs Survey as being the most urgent for Nigerians. These concerns include neighbor disputes, criminal issues, money issues, land issues, domestic violence, and housing issues.
A fascinating curriculum including lean startup principles, sustainable business creation, consumer research, justice innovation, and pitching will be made available at the 2023 JES. The advantages for the chosen businesses include workshops led by industry professionals, a network of knowledgeable mentors, access to HiiL’s worldwide network of justice innovators and ecosystem stakeholders, visibility abroad, and potential investment options.
Beginning on June 3rd, 2023, the 8-week program will end on July 29th, 2023, with a startup showcase day.
Solo entrepreneurs and founding teams with a prototype or minimum viable product (MVP) tackling justice issues are welcome to apply.
