Tingg, Payment App Wins Mobile App of The Year in Kenya
Tingg, the all-in-one super payments app, was named ‘Overall Mobile App of the Year’ in Kenya at the inaugural Mobile App Summit and Awards, which took place on Friday, October 10th, at a prestigious gala dinner.
At the event, held at the Pride Inn Westlands Banquette Centre, they also won the ‘Mobile App of the Year: Productivity and Utilities.’
The Vibrant Digital Mobile App Awards sought to recognize the best in the Kenyan mobile app industry, with hundreds of companies nominated in a total of 27 categories including agri-tech, health, business, finance, education, and gaming.
Tingg is a unified digital payments platform that addresses the complex payment needs of African businesses. The app makes it simple to collect and make payments using a variety of payment methods and currencies.
“We’re committed to ensuring that businesses in Kenya and across Africa at large are able to seamlessly connect with their customers who are increasingly adopting digital platforms,” says Faith Nkatha, Cellulant’s Country Manager in Kenya. We appreciate that our recent work with a diverse range of merchants, including airlines, telecoms, utility companies, and banks, has contributed to these awards.”
Cellulant unveiled a new brand identity for the Tingg app (formerly Mula) earlier in 2021, calling it a season of renewal and reaffirmation of its belief that the success of African people and businesses is the foundation of transforming the continent. Tingg’s mobile app and platform are available in Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, Mozambique, Zambia, and Botswana, in addition to Kenya.
