Telegram Releases Emoji Reactions Feature for iOS
Telegram recently announced new features for iOS users, including Live Text support and media captions formatting. The instant messaging platform is now working on a message reactions feature that will allow users to express their emotions in response to messages received on the app.
Users in the beta version of Telegram for iOS can respond to messages sent in groups or channels using various emojis. To share reactions in chat, users can choose from 11 different emoji. Thumbs up, thumbs down, heart, and other symbols are among them. When an emoji is selected, users can see dynamic animations, just like on Instagram and iMessage.
A Reddit post revealed that emoji reactions were being tested for Telegram’s iOS platform. Users can use this feature to select an emoji to express their reaction to a specific message or post on Telegram. As previously stated, users can now choose from 11 different reactions.
These include thumbs up, thumbs down, red heart, fire, party popper, pile of poo, vomiting face, face with tears of joy, loudly crying face, screaming face, and star-struck face, according to the Reddit post. This could function similarly to how reactions work on iMessage, Instagram, and Twitter.
The selected emoji reactions can be viewed as small moving animations. Users in group chats or Telegram channels can click on a message to see what reactions others have left for that message. Admins have the ability to disable the emoji feature in groups. They may also permit a limited number of reaction emoji.
Although it was discovered in the iOS version, the feature is likely to be added to Telegram for Android in the future.
Users can currently express their emotions on Twitter, Instagram, and iMessage by adding emoji reactions to messages they receive. WhatsApp is also said to be developing message reactions.
