Sendy Collaborates With Google to Launch Google Hustle Academy for SME’s in Africa
Sendy, a Nairobi-based software firm that develops fulfillment solutions for e-commerce and consumer brands, has teamed up with Google to launch the “Google Hustle Academy program,” which aims to boost Africa’s small and medium companies.
The boot camp program is expected to deliver expert training on business strategy and development, digital marketing, and financial planning to MSMEs in Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa.
“The Google Hustle Academy is a noble concept that is in line with our goal and purpose. We understand the importance of small and medium-sized businesses in the economy. We’re also aware of the enormous hurdles they’re up against. We aim to empower them by giving them the tools they need to trade effectively and efficiently. “We hope to unlock their potential through our cooperation with Google so that students can learn and seize current opportunities to develop sustainable enterprises,” said Mesh Alloys, Founder and CEO of Sendy.
The free weeklong online boot camp aims to help 5000 MSME’s scale and grow by positioning them for investment, increasing income, and building long-term company sustainability.
Participants will also have access to key industry leaders and master seminars on business as part of the program, which will help to develop opportunities, enhance business growth, and create jobs across the region.
Sendy, a co-founded company in 2015, will provide fulfillment and logistical support to the participating companies. It will also provide one-on-one mentoring to help participants learn and develop the skills necessary to run successful enterprises.
“We are happy to be cooperating with Sendy to provide much-needed help to MSMEs,” stated Mojolaoluwa Aderemi-Makinde, Head of Brand and Reputation, Google SSA. SMEs are the backbone of the global economy, accounting for the majority of firms in practically every region. In Sub-Saharan Africa, they employ about 50 million people and contribute to the region’s GDP. We will provide them with training through the Hustle Academy to help them package their enterprises and secure the required finances to take them to the next level.”
