OpenAI makes ChatGPT instantly available and may be accessed without signing up.
OpenAI has opened up access to its chatbot,ChatGPT, powered by artificial intelligence (AI) to all users, even those without an OpenAI account. The AI company announced the change on Monday and mentioned that it was being implemented gradually.
Users have the option to allow the corporation to record discussions in order to train the AI, even when they are not logged in. The chatbot’s creator said that this mode will also have more stringent content monitoring. Notably, a recent study said that OpenAI would release its next AI model, GPT-5, later in 2024.
In an announcement on X (formerly known as Twitter), the firm stated, “We’re rolling out the ability to start using ChatGPT instantly, without needing to sign up, so it’s even easier to experience the potential of AI.” This marks the expansion of the chatbot’s accessibility. Remarkably, among its main competitors, ChatGPT is now the only AI chatbot that grants access to non-registered users. To access the AI model, users must register on platforms including Google Gemini, Microsoft’s Copilot, Anthropic’s Claude, Grok by xAI, and Snapchat’s MyAI.
The AI company provided additional information on the announcement in a blog post. According to OpenAI, the feature is being rolled out progressively worldwide, and it can take some time for all users to obtain it. It was accessible to us at Gadgets 360, and the chatbot functions as promised. If a user chooses not to log in, they will still be able to manage the information they give the AI because there is a parameter that allows them to decide whether or not the chat is utilized to train the models. Toggling off the “Improve the model for everyone” option requires you to first tap the question mark icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen, then click Settings.
But there is a drawback to not registering. There will be more stringent content moderation for users without accounts. The statement said, “We’ve also added extra content safeguards for this experience, like blocking generations and prompts in a wider range of categories.”
It should be mentioned that those who choose not to register for an OpenAI account will be unable to utilize ChatGPT’s essential features, which include voice discussions, chat history storage and review, chat sharing, and personalized instructions.
