Instagram Allows Customization of Feed Post Audiences; Introduces New Reels Editing Tools, and More
Instagram recently announced that it was exploring capabilities that would allow users to further customize their feeds.
It was reported in September of this year that the company is also testing capabilities that will allow users to share Reels and feed posts with a customized list of accounts. The social media platform has already begun to roll out a feature that allows users to select their “audience” before uploading a post on their feed. Instagram has also included new editing tools for Reels, as well as new post filters and better insights.
Instagram’s Close Friends function has been enhanced so that users can send posts and reels to their main feed that are only viewable to people on the list, rather than simply their followers.
Previously, users could only share tales with persons on their Close Friends list. Before sharing a post or Reel, users can select their Close Friends list from the “audience” option by tapping it. Once published, it will have a green star icon, similar to how Close Friends stories have a green circle around them. This feature was confirmed by Gadgets 360.
Whether a user posts a note, a narrative, a reel, or a feed post, their Close Friends list remains same. When someone reacts to a story, the poster receives a private direct message. When a person likes or comments on another user’s Close Friends post or Reel, everyone else in the Close Friends circle can see it.
Instagram also introduced additional editing capabilities for Reels, such as cutting and rotating individual pieces. They also stated that they hope to introduce undo and redo options for Reels editing in the near future. You can also add audio clips to your Reel with the new capabilities. Ten new English text-to-speech voices have also been introduced, as have new text styles and typefaces available in multiple languages. You may also access the audio page from the top of the camera roll and use outlines in your text in Reels. Another enhancement is a more streamlined Draft preview. You’ll also be able to preview, rename, and schedule your drafts ahead of time.
You may now create personalised stickers on the app, similar to WhatsApp stickers. Custom stickers can be made using photographs and videos from the user’s gallery as well as those discovered on Instagram. The program has also added new filters that claim to explore different tones and moods, as well as new insight analytics called ‘Replays’ that track replay metrics alongside first plays. In the following months, they hope to provide Reels with real-time intelligence via an interactive Retention Chart to help digital designers.
