Applications for the ecosystem restoration initiative are now being accepted by Village Capital and Moody’s.
Aiming to combat deforestation, land degradation, water scarcity, loss of biodiversity, and unfavorable climate change, the Innovation for Ecosystem Restoration Africa 2023 program is managed by Village Capital and supported by Moody’s Corporation.
Despite having some of the most biologically diverse ecosystems in the world, Sub-Saharan Africa still struggles with significant environmental issues related to ecosystem degradation as a result of both natural and man-made disturbances.
Some of the region’s most pressing problems—deforestation, land degradation, water scarcity, biodiversity loss, and unfavorable climate change—have a significant impact on social, economic, and ecological systems.
Startups tackling deforestation, land degradation, water scarcity, biodiversity loss, and adverse climate change are welcome to apply for the Innovation for Ecosystem Restoration Africa accelerator, which will provide selected ventures with access to training, networking, mentorship, financial analysis, and media exposure.
The deadline for submissions is May 14.
