Apply: BlueInvest Africa’s 2024 Edition
Applications for the second edition of BlueInvest Africa, an initiative for investors and entrepreneurs in the blue economy, are now being accepted.
The call for projects is directed at businesses that have their formal registration, are based in Africa, and are currently engaged in one or more blue economy areas.
Additionally, African small, micro, and medium-sized enterprises (SMMEs) are being targeted by BlueInvest Africa 2024 because their creative ideas need assistance to succeed in the continent’s marketplaces.
In addition, BlueInvest Africa is dedicated to advancing just and sustainable development, guaranteeing food security, and strengthening climate change resilience.
BlueInvest was launched by the European Commission in 2022 with the goal of bringing together international investors and African entrepreneurs looking for funding to discuss projects that will advance the continent’s blue economy.
Thirty “blue” initiatives will be showcased to an online and in-person panel of investors and stakeholders during the event. The main objective is to draw in partners who are prepared and eager to support the growth of these initiatives.
The selection committee for BlueInvest Africa will only consider projects that are currently under development. They ought to be categorized as part of the blue economy and assigned to one or more African nations. They also need to include sustainability goals that address project life cycle, production, and implementation.
Every company will appoint a pitcher or representative to make a compelling and exciting presentation of their project. This delegate will receive coaching to ensure the caliber, impact, and appeal of their presentation in addition to having their travel and lodging expenses paid for by the event organizers. During the event’s closing ceremony, a prize will be given to the best presentation.
The project presentations will be attended by a variety of investor categories, including public and private institutional investors, international, national, and regional organizations, and a variety of collective entities like business platforms, incubators, and business angels. The event is modeled after the previous BlueInvest Africa in the Seychelles.
Applications must be submitted online on the BlueInvest Africa website before 26 January 2024.
