3 Egyptian startups have joined the Techstars Riyadh accelerator.
Three Egyptian startups are among the 12 selected from the MENA region to participate in the Techstars Riyadh accelerator, which provides US$120,000 in funding and other scaling support.
Techstars Riyadh, which is run in collaboration with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Communications and IT (MCIT) and Raed Ventures, invests US$120,000 in each selected company and provides hands-on mentorship and access to the Techstars network.
Three Egyptian startups are among those in the most recent cohort, which also includes startups from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Tegarti is a cloud-based point of sale and retail management platform; Glamera allows users to book appointments for beauty services from service providers; and Untap is an all-in-one software used by organizations to plan, launch, manage, and assess online innovation and talent acquisition programs.
The 13-week program began earlier this month and will conclude on February 17, 2022, with a demo day.
Tegarti’s selection for Techstars Riyadh coincided with the full launch of its platform, following an April soft launch that saw its app receive over 3,000 downloads from Egypt and other MENA countries.
Tegarti serves merchants of varying sizes, with features and accessibility varying according to industry type, business size, and services provided. However, the company offers a unified experience for its point of sale, which is an important aspect of the user experience.
“We’re constructing an ecosystem for merchants.” Yes, it’s a long journey, but the game has begun. As a result, merchants will soon be able to use Tegarti for all aspects of their business needs. Furthermore, rather than building everything ourselves, we chose to collaborate with ecosystem players who share our vision of providing more added value and a cohesive solution for merchants,” said co-founder Abdalaziz Elbahnasy.
