WhatsApp Users Can now Transfer Conversations From Android to iPhone
WhatsApp users may now transfer their discussion chat history, photographs, videos, and voice messages from their Android handset to their iPhone using Apple’s Move to iOS program.
Before this upgrade, users could only transfer conversations from an iPhone to an Android smartphone. The beta version of the ability to shift WhatsApp data from Android to iPhone, which begins today, will take around a week to reach all users.
In a statement, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said, “We’re adding to WhatsApp the ability to safely switch between phones and transfer your chat history, photographs, videos, and voice chats between Android and iPhone while retaining end-to-end encryption.” “This is one of the most often requested features. Last year, we introduced the option to transition from iPhone to Android, and now we’re introducing Android to iPhone.”
According to WhatsApp, the transfer process is only supported on brand-new or factory-reset iPhones.
Additionally, both your Android and iPhone must be running iOS 15.5 or higher. To get started, launch the Move to iOS app on your Android phone and follow the on-screen instructions. Once you’ve followed the instructions, a code will display on your iPhone.
A window will open on your Android phone asking you to enter the code. After that, click “Continue” and follow the on-screen instructions. Then select “WhatsApp” from the “Transfer Data” box. Then press “Start” on your Android phone to begin the process.
After that, tap “Next” to return to the Move to iOS app. After that, press “Continue” and wait for Move to iOS to ensure that the data transfer from your Android phone to your iPhone went smoothly. Then, from the App Store, download the most recent version of WhatsApp and log in with the same phone number as your prior smartphone. After that, you’ll be asked to press “Start” to begin the operation.
You can transfer your account information, profile picture, individual and group discussions, chat histories, media, and settings using this approach, according to WhatsApp. However, your call history and display name will not be moved.
