WhatsApp is releasing a new voice calling interface for Android beta testers

WhatsApp has begun to roll out a new voice call interface. The most recent rollout is only available to a limited number of Android beta testers.

Waveforms for group voice calls are also stored on the device. In addition to the updated voice call interface in the new beta release, WhatsApp has been spotted working on a new screen for responding to users about their account ban reviews. It appears to dynamically adjust the color palettes based on the theme selected by the user.

According to WhatsApp beta tracker WABetaInfo, some users have received the updated voice calling interface in WhatsApp for Android beta 2.22.5.4. Several users have reported seeing the change on WhatsApp for Android beta version 2.22.5.3.

The interface was first spotted in December and is expected to be available for both Android and iOS users. It provides a more compact and contemporary experience.

WABetaInfo has also discovered that when making group voice calls, the interface displays waveforms. These voice waveforms are displayed for all participants to inform them of the active speakers on the call.

Although the new experience is currently only available to some Android beta testers, WABetaInfo stated that it will be available to iOS beta testers in the coming days.

In addition to the latest change for beta users, WABetaInfo has separately reported that WhatsApp is working on a screen that will inform users of the status of their ban review requests. The screen appears to be designed to complement the dark theme.

Last year, WhatsApp was spotted working on the idea of allowing review requests for account bans. WABetaInfo displayed a similar screen at the time. The icons on the previous screen, on the other hand, were in a light theme.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will add new reasons for banning accounts for violating its Commerce Policy. Users, on the other hand, are said to be able to request a review of their account ban.

Exact details on when the updated procedure to request ban reviews will come into force are yet to be revealed. However, WABetaInfo has spotted the references about the new screen in WhatsApp for Android beta 2.22.5.3.
