WhatsApp is Planning to Extend Message Deleting Time Limit to More Than 7 Days: Report
According to reports, WhatsApp is working on increasing the time limit before you can delete messages for everyone in a chat. WhatsApp currently allows you to delete messages for everyone within 1 hour, 8 minutes, and 16 seconds.
This limit, however, is expected to be significantly increased in a future update. WhatsApp is currently working on increasing the limit, and it is not even available for beta testers at this time. While WhatsApp was previously planning to remove any limit on message deletion, those plans appear to have changed.
According to WABetaInfo, a new update to the message deletion feature has been discovered on WhatsApp Desktop beta 2.2147.4. According to the most recent beta update, WhatsApp is planning to increase the time limit for message deletion from 1 hour, 8 minutes, 16 seconds to 7 days and 8 minutes. WABetaInfo also shared a screenshot demonstrating how the message deletion options appear for messages that are at least a day old.
As previously stated, WhatsApp reportedly planned to remove any restriction on deleting messages. However, they are now planning to change the current time limit, which is currently 7 days and 8 minutes. According to the tracker, this feature is still in development, and WhatsApp may change its plans regarding this option before the official release or a new announcement from their social accounts.
This feature will not be available to users even on the most recent WhatsApp Desktop beta 2.2147.4 because it is still in development. WhatsApp is also rumored to be working on a feature that will speed up audio messages while they are being played back.
This will function similarly to how voice notes can be sped up to 1.5x or 2x while being played back. An audio message is essentially a forwarded voice note or any other audio that was not recorded by the sender at the time it was sent. While the feature has been spotted testing on iOS devices, it is expected that Android devices will receive it soon.
