WhatsApp Introduces Polls Feature to Android, iOS Users
WhatsApp Polls, the newest group communication feature from the Meta-owned company, is now available to users on both Android and iOS.
Polls and “Communities,” a feature that enables users to have many groups under a single roof to organize group talks, were recently added to the messaging app.
In addition, WhatsApp had doubled the participant limit for groups and introduced one-tap video calling for up to 32 people. WhatsApp Polls will be protected by end-to-end encryption, just like the other features of the app, so the company cannot see the details of the polls shared in groups.
Users of Android and iOS devices can now access the new polls function. The feature’s availability on Android and iOS was confirmed by Gadgets 360. Users can utilize the feature to construct group polls that allow voting. The ability to add group polls is now available in Telegram and Facebook Messenger. End-to-end encryption will be used to secure WhatsApp’s polling function.
By accessing any chat, users of WhatsApp’s most recent version can view Polls. On iOS, you may select Poll by tapping the plus sign next to the conversation box. Android users should tap on Poll after tapping on the paperclip icon next to the chat box. Both private and public chat rooms can add these polls. You can then type a question or topic and provide options for others to vote on.

Once you’ve selected a choice, you can deselect it and choose another. Additionally, users have the option of voting in a poll with several choices to express multiple preferences.
The instant messaging service operated by Meta has also received a number of new improvements and features. As was already noted, the Communities feature enables users to organize group talks by allowing them to have many groups under a single “Community.” New admin capabilities, such as control over which groups can be included and the ability to send announcement messages to everyone, will be part of the Communities upgrade.
Additionally, the chat platform now supports group video calls with up to 32 members.
Abhijit Bose, the head of WhatsApp India, and Rajiv Aggarwal, the director of public policy for Meta in India, both announced their resignations earlier this week. The resignations came after the departure of Ajit Mohan, the head of Meta India, who left last month after four years in the position to work for rival Snap.
As the Facebook parent doubles down on its metaverse bet amidst a collapsing advertising market and decades-high inflation, the American digital behemoth is also in the midst of significant layoffs announced last week, eliminating more than 11,000 positions, or 13 percent of its workforce.
