WhatsApp Expands File Limit, Brings More People Into Group Video Chat Call
WhatsApp has finally caught up to the competition and increased the file limit. Large files of up to 2GB can now be shared.
WhatsApp also intends to expand the range of emoji message reactions from Thanks to Sad, Surprised, Like, Laugh, and Love to cover all emojis and skin tones.
WhatsApp groups are also getting emoji message reactions.
With the addition of a dedicated button, WhatsApp is also boosting the number of people who can participate in group chat video chats from 16 to 32.
Messages sent by any member can now be deleted by Group Admins for all users.
WhatsApp’s main announcement was Communities, a new feature that will make it easier to manage multiple connected groups.
“This way, people can simply organize smaller discussion groups on what matters to them and receive updates posted to the broader community,” WhatsApp adds.
“Communities will also have strong new admin capabilities, such as announcement messages delivered to everyone and control over which groups can be included,” WhatsApp continues.
WhatsApp did not provide a specific date for when these capabilities will be available, but as is customary, Beta users will be the first to use them before they are made available to the public.
