Voice message transcription is reportedly being tested by WhatsApp for Android.
According to a rumor, WhatsApp for Android is developing a new feature that could allow users to transcribe voice communications. A feature tracker in an Android platform beta version of the WhatsApp app noticed it. Users could be able to utilize this to produce transcriptions of voice communications they’ve sent and received. It has been claimed that a similar function was added to the WhatsApp iOS beta a few months ago, and it is now rumored to be coming to the Android platform as well.
Voice Message Translation Services
A new banner asking the user if they would like a transcription of a voice message they have sent or received may show up beneath a voice transcription, according to WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo. As per the claims, the feature was spotted in WhatsApp for Android beta app version 2.24.15.5.
When listening to audio recordings isn’t possible on the instant messaging app, it’s likely that this feature will come in handy. Furthermore, having a transcription might help users who communicate over long voice communications understand each other better. Five languages are reportedly supported by the voice message transcription feature: Hindi, English, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, and Spanish.
According to the feature tracker, some beta testers using the most recent version of WhatsApp for Android beta through the Google Play Beta program are able to access the voice message transcription feature. Employees of Gadgets 360 were unable to confirm that this feature was available on the Android WhatsApp beta. It’s possible, though, that consumers are receiving it gradually.
Additional Features
Another feature that WhatsApp is reportedly exploring is a specific video note mode for the camera interface. With this modification, in addition to the current Video and Photo options, a button for taking video notes might show up in the camera user interface. It is rumored to have been seen in the WhatsApp beta version for iOS and Android.
