In order to make energy cheap and available 24/7 a young Nigerian engineer is working towards an effective and efficient energy source. Engr. Simon Olanipekun has invented an Inexhaustible Power Source(IPS) that has a power to-weight ratio of 122 Horsepower per kilogram, with an efficiency of about 99% and a lifespan of 70 years, and a coefficient of performance that tends to infinity. His invention won the Nigeria Innovation Awards in 2016
In his explanation he said
“Unlike coal and petrol, the IPS does not pollute the ecosystem; unlike solar and wind, it does not depend on the weather; unlike ethanol, it does not accelerate deforestation or inflate food prices; and unlike nuclear plant, it does not raise uncomfortable questions about meltdowns or radioactive-waste storage. The IPS produces energy by inducing a space-time warp in its locality, and transducing the energy inherent in the space-time warp into classical mechanical energy.
The IPS comprises a rotor member having an axis about which it is rotatable, the rotor member being annular in shape and being either magnetic or magnetized, a plurality of oblique magnets disposed in close enough proximity to the rotor member to produce magnetic interaction. In operation the rotor member and the oblique magnets induce a space-time warp in their locality; the forces inherent in the space-time warp continuously act on the rotor member and the oblique magnets. The moment of the forces causes the rotor member to rotate continuously about the axis.”
We wish Simon the very best as he takes his invention to the next level.
