The 6th MEST Africa Challenge is accepting applications with an agri-tech focus.
The sixth edition of the MEST Africa Challenge, which aims to uncover and encourage exceptional agri-tech entrepreneurs, is now accepting applications. The Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) and the Norwegian Embassy are working together on this initiative.
MEST is a pan-African software and entrepreneurship training program, seed fund, and incubator that was founded in Ghana in 2008 by serial entrepreneur Jorn Lyseggen. It assists in the establishment of technology firms around the continent.
Now in its sixth iteration, the MEST Africa Challenge gives winners US$50,000 in equity capital and features a sector focus for the first time. The challenge provides vital assistance, money, and coaching to agri-tech businesses, enabling them to “Find Their Soil.”
“Find Your Soil” is an initiative to help agri-tech entrepreneurs find the perfect setting in which to realize their vision. We want to help this ecosystem by giving these entrepreneurs the tools, exposure, and strategic assistance they need to succeed through the MEST Africa Challenge, said Ashwin Ravichandran, portfolio adviser at MEST Africa.
Startups from important West African markets, such as Benin, Cape Verde, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mauritania, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Mali, and Togo, are eligible to compete in the MEST Africa Challenge 2024.
In addition to accessing MEST’s vast global network and earning US$50,000 in equity capital, the winning firm will also gain crucial collaborations, mentorship, and investment opportunities to propel their global presence and growth.
