Study Finds Google Pixel 10 Pro and Galaxy Z Fold 7 Offer Stronger Scam and Fraud Protection Than iPhone 17 Pro

Google has cited a number of reports to support its assertion that Android phones are more secure than iPhones against spam calls and messages. According to a study the company commissioned, which compared 33 security features across three Android smartphones and Apple’s most recent iPhone model, Android-powered devices offer a higher level of protection than the iPhone 17 Pro, particularly when it comes to shielding customers from fraud and frauds.
Android Smartphones May Be More Secure Than iPhones
The California-based tech giant supported its assertion that Android handsets offer more security and privacy over Apple’s iPhone models with a number of reports in a blog post. According to the corporation, the results of a paid examination conducted by Leviathan Security Group on 33 security features on the Google Pixel 10 Pro, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, iPhone 17 Pro, and Moto Razr 10+ (2025) revealed that Android phones outperformed the iPhone.
The Razr+ (2025) and iPhone 17 Pro ran iOS 26.0.01 and Android 15, respectively, while the Pixel 10 Pro and Galaxy Z Fold 7 ran Android 16. The phones’ capacity to enroll in a higher degree of protection for the device and user account, whether or not they support passkeys, whether or not they have a password manager that can identify registered websites and applications, and how well they protect against account changes were among the test parameters listed.
According to the cybersecurity group’s investigation, the Google Pixel 10 Pro had the “highest level” of default protection against scams and frauds, followed by the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Razr+ (2025). According to the display, the Pixel 10 Pro received 31 points. In contrast, the Razr+ (2025) and Galaxy Z Fold 7 received 29 points. Apple’s newly released iPhone 17 Pro came in last place with a score of 23.25 points.
The Google-funded assessment report by Leviathan Security Group also noted how Android’s call filtering, fraud detection, and scam warning authentication capabilities enabled the phones to exceed Apple’s most recent flagship model.
Additionally, Google described how Android is “better” at preventing unsolicited calls. Google Messages, according to the business, automatically filters spam messages by examining the text’s substance and the sender’s “reputation.” Additionally, leveraging on-device AI capabilities, Google’s native Phone app can automatically reject “known spam calls.”
According to a Google and YouGov survey of 5,000 people in the US, Brazil, and India, Android phone owners were 58% more likely than iPhone users to say they had not received any scam texts in the week before the study.
