Special Invitation to the DEEEAL Lecture, 2010
On behalf of the Nigerian Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, NIEEE (A Division of the Nigerian Society of Engineers) I am pleased to send this advance notice of invitation to the Distinguished Electrical Electronic Engineer’s Annual Lecture, DEEEAL, 2010 entitled “Pathway to connecting the Last Man” which, owing to my nomination by the Institution, I will be privileged to deliver on December 16, 2010 at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.
I feel very humbled by my nomination to deliver this Lecture for a number of reasons. Firstly the idea of a DEEEAL Lecture was mooted under my Chairmanship of the Institution and 15 years on, its roaring success has made it an important feature of the Institution’s annual calendar while still managing to retain its raison d’être. Secondly it represents yet another platform for me to make a contribution to the subject of Nigeria and its telecommunications with a focus on access, quality, and affordability – which incidentally is my passion.
More importantly, our Institution designed these Lectures to be delivered to a select audience of top professionals, academics, politicians and businessmen under the auspices of the Lecturer.
It is an opportunity for friends of both the Nominee-Lecturer and of our Institution to also make their contribution to the subject either by giving their opinion or simply sending in goodwill messages. They can also place corporate adverts in the Events Brochure whose circulation will extend far wider and beyond the audience at the Lecture. Proceeds from the corporate adverts would support Institution’s current and future operations.
Your attendance will be most appreciated for this, in all probability, is my swansong as I intend to retire to my village for community service straight from my current industry assignment.
That said, I can think of no better way of saying Thank You to the company of my friends who have one way or the other been part of my path in the 37 years of industry service.
