SMFEST Set to Hold its Second Edition in October 2022
SMFEST (Social Media Fest) has announced that its second edition themed “CREATIVE DISRUPTION” will hold on 22nd October 2022 at the Landmark Event Centre Owerri, Imo State.
SMFest is a global annual conference that seeks to bring together the best and brightest minds in the world of technology.
It is a platform that teaches its audience to leverage the power of technology, social media, and innovation to advance their businesses, brands, and causes by providing ideas, exposure, and insights that help people and businesses understand how best to explore all the advantages of digitalization.
With the slug line; connect, innovate and grow, SMFEST is driven by three main goals; to create a physical space for an army of young persons on social media, utilize the forum to advance diverse creativities in the technological industry and other careers and reinforce positive values as a strategy for combating crime and deviance.
The theme “CREATIVE DISRUPTION” is inspired by the need to cause a radical change in various industries using technology and innovation.
The event will also explore how to in?uence learning paradigms and formulate or contribute to policies that foster an enabling environment, thereby producing and retaining the talents that will creatively disrupt the status quo and drive the future.
A typical SMFEST event comprises keynote speeches, panel sessions, fireside chats and workshops. The event also boasts the best speakers, facilitators and panelists.
This year will feature the likes of Obinna Ukachukwu (Snr. Bank Executive), Mr Ugochukwu Omeugo (Founder, Merignos Consulting and Mentoring Ltd. & Former Consultant, Joseph Consulting), Chukwuemeka Emmanuel A.K.A Sabinus (award-winning skit maker), Excel Ajah (CEO, Silicon Africa Technologies Ltd & SMFEST Convener), Nelly Agbogu (Naija Brand Chic), Chioma Ifeanyi Eze (Accounting Hub Nig.), Jude Umeanor (Founder, Nigeria Bitcoin Community), and Emeka Nobis (Founder, Switchpath Consulting).
The technology and social media event made its debut on 23rd October 2022. It had over 1,400 participants from the host state, Imo and neighboring states. For the second edition, SMFEST targets 1,700 physical participants and about 1000 virtually participants.
One of the highlights of SMFEST 2.0 is the Hackathon, where creatives will have an opportunity to develop a digital solution to the problem of sourcing funding in Nigeria and Africa. The sum of # 1,000,000 (One Million Naira) has been set aside for the winner of this challenge.
Getting ready for this year’s edition, the convener, Mr Ajah Excel, said that the maiden edition of SMFEST Owerri exposed several businesses to new ideas and a network of persons that increased their clientele and revenue by at least 30% and is planning to double the result this time.
