Seedstars and SANAD Partner to Support Women Entrepreneurs Across Africa and the Middle East
The SANAD Technical Assistance Facility (TAF) and Swiss venture capital firm and ecosystem support organization Seedstars have partnered to launch the SANAD Elevate Her Programme, a multi-phase initiative aimed at empowering female-led and 2X-aligned startups in the Middle East, North Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
A Swiss organization called Seedstars is committed to making a difference in emerging countries by supporting investment, ecosystem development, and entrepreneurship. Seedstars provides investment, mentorship, and training to thousands of businesses across more than 90 markets.
In contrast, the SANAD Technical Assistance Facility (TAF) promotes resilience, economic empowerment, and entrepreneurship in the Middle East and Africa, with a particular emphasis on women and young people.
Climate shocks, market and financial restrictions, and the weight of household responsibilities all contribute to the US$42 billion funding gap that women entrepreneurs in the region face. By providing female-led entrepreneurs with the resources, connections, and funding they require to expand, the SANAD Elevate Her Programme aims to close this disparity.
Through organized acceleration, specialized business support, and investment-readiness initiatives, the program will empower forty high-potential, creative female-led enterprises that are in line with the 2X Challenge. It seeks to bolster entrepreneurial ecosystems throughout the participating economies by emphasizing job creation and economic resilience.
