Samsung Introduces Galaxy Tab S12 Series for Enhanced Productivity and Business Growth
Samsung Electronics has introduced the Galaxy Tab S12 series in Nigeria, made up of the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and the Galaxy Tab S12+. The company calls them its most capable tablets to date. Both pair a thin build with longer battery life, a faster processor and the latest Galaxy AI features, and are pitched at users who want one device for study, career work and creative projects.
Both models ship with an S Pen and a display built for note-taking and precise editing. Samsung says the lineup is designed for people who want professional-grade tools in a portable form.
Lucas Lee, CEO of Samsung Electronics West Africa, said in the announcement that the series was built for purpose-driven individuals who want tablets that match their ambition.
Thin build, longer battery life
At 5.1mm, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is the thinnest tablet in the Galaxy Tab line. Samsung also says it is the most powerful Galaxy Tab so far. As an example of daily use, the company describes someone taking an online course alongside a full-time job who follows a lesson on the commute, then works through exercises on the larger screen at a café or library.
On a single charge, the Tab S12 Ultra lasts up to 23 hours and the Tab S12+ up to 21 hours. With the 45W adapter, either tablet charges from 0% to 100% in about 95 minutes.
Performance and durability
Both tablets run on a 3nm processor. Compared with the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, Samsung says it delivers up to 61% faster NPU processing, 19% faster CPU performance and 17% better GPU power. The company says this keeps the tablet responsive during demanding work, such as rendering a complex creative project or watching a lecture while taking notes and querying an AI assistant.
A redesigned 3D Vapor Chamber dissipates heat so performance holds up during long video-editing or graphic-design sessions. Both models also carry an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
Displays and audio
The Tab S12 Ultra has a 14.6-inch display. The Tab S12+ has a 12.6-inch screen with slimmer bezels than its predecessor, giving more screen space without costing portability. Both use Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels that reach up to 1,600 nits of peak brightness for use indoors or outdoors. An upgraded Vision Booster adjusts brightness in real time to match the lighting around the user.
Audio moves to 4-channel spatial sound, twice the channel count of the previous generation. Samsung says this suits streaming, tutorials and editing.
One UI 9, Galaxy AI and multitasking
The tablets run Android 17 with One UI 9 and the latest Galaxy AI. Multi Window can split the screen into up to three sections. A user could, for instance, play a lecture on one side, keep an AI assistant open, and take notes in Samsung Notes with the S Pen. Note Assist then summarizes those notes without the lecture being paused.
The optional Book Cover Keyboard Slim suits a more structured, desk-style setup, with comfortable viewing angles and an easy typing feel.
Each tablet comes with a six-month trial of Google AI Pro, which gives wider access to Google’s most capable AI models. Users can put questions to Gemini as they come up. Gemini Notebook brings notes, images, recordings and files into one workspace and can generate summaries, podcasts and quizzes from them.
Samsung Browser reads page content, context across open tabs and browsing history. It can summarize information across open pages or bring up a source the user viewed days earlier.
Apps and bundled offers
Adobe Photoshop comes pre-loaded on the Galaxy Tab S12 series, which Samsung says is a first for Android tablets. The interface is tailored to tablets and supports the S Pen. Its AI features include an AI Assistant and Adobe Firefly-powered tools such as Generative Fill and Image to Video. Buyers of the series get four months of free access to the Photoshop mobile plan.
Other bundled apps and offers include:
- Notability: newly pre-loaded on Galaxy Tab, with S Pen optimization and AI study tools, a six-month free trial and 20% off the first subscription.
- Goodnotes: one year of free access.
- LumaFusion: professional video editing at a 66% discount.
- Notion: one month of the Plus plan free.
- Clip Studio Paint: a six-month trial and 20% off the first subscription.
Samsung also points to MyScript Math, which solves handwritten equations and shows the steps, and MyScript Notes, which turns handwritten notes into study material with built-in AI tools. Noteshelf 3 offers customizable layouts for organizing ideas, while ArcSite converts rough field sketches into precise CAD drawings.
Availability, updates and Samsung Care+
The Galaxy Tab S12 series is available from October 14 at Samsung Experience Stores, authorized dealers and partner retailers nationwide, in Gray and Silver. Both models support up to seven OS upgrades and security updates.
Samsung Care+ covers fast repairs for accidental damage, an extended warranty, and certified expert support at home and abroad. Galaxy phone users on One UI 9 can check the Care+ status of their Galaxy Tab and enroll through the Warranty and care menu in Settings. The same menu gives access to warranty information, self-diagnostics, repair requests and remote support for connected devices.
