ITA, Angolan Telecommunications Service Provider Rebrands to Paratus Angola
Internet Technologies Angola (ITA), a supplier of telecommunications services in Angola, has changed its name to Paratus Angola, placing it under the parent firm Paratus Group’s larger network.
The rebranding, according to a statement from the company, aims to align ITA’s brand identity with that of the larger Paratus Group in order to support its overall vision of providing a cost-effective network and enabling clients to take advantage of the potential for access to additional resources and seamless integration across the transcontinental network Paratus operates in Africa.
The makeover of ITA’s identity, according to Paratus Global CEO Barney Harmse, is a significant step toward mobilizing a unified brand strategy towards Paratus Global’s ambition to transform Africa through great digital infrastructure and customer service.
The investments made by the Paratus Group in southern Africa include seven offices in the SADC region, serving as Google’s Equiano Cable’s landing partner in Namibia, establishing fiber connections to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), four data centers—two of which are in Angola—five satellite teleports with more than 4,000 customer sites, and fiber and microwave coverage connecting 18 provinces in Angola.
ITA was established in February 2003 and now has 6 operational offices with close to 200 employees, serving the full 1,246,700 square kilometer region of Angola.
The parent business Paratus Group, which has operations in 35 African nations, intends to increase its income within the next five years by taking advantage of its cumulative investments in the region.
