Instagram now allows you to embed a scaled-down version of your profile into a website
Instagram is introducing a new “Profile Embed” feature that will allow users to embed a mini-version of their profile into a website. Users will be able to further integrate their Instagram profiles into websites such as blogs and portfolios with the new feature. According to the social media giant, the feature is currently only available in the United States. In a video posted to Twitter, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri announced the launch of the new feature.
“For many years now, you’ve been able to embed an Instagram photo or Instagram video into a website,” Mosseri explained in the video. “This expands on that concept by allowing you to embed a thumbnail version of your Instagram profile on a website.” Perhaps you’d like to showcase your Instagram content on a website or link to someone else’s.”

Mosseri also mentioned two more features that were announced earlier this week in the video. The company introduced a new “Reels Visual Replies” feature, which allows users to respond to comments on posts using Reels. When users choose to reply to a comment, they will now see a new option that allows them to create a video reply by selecting the Reels button. The video response will be displayed as a sticker. The new feature is similar to TikTok’s video replies, in which users can respond to comments on their content with video responses. TikTok launched the feature last year to provide users with a way to provide more context for their videos and answer questions.
Given TikTok’s popularity, it’s no surprise that Instagram launched a similar feature for its own TikTok-clone. Instagram wasn’t the only one to do so, as Pinterest added the ability to reply to comments with videos a few days after Instagram announced its feature.
The third new feature mentioned in Mosseri’s video is a new “Playback” IG Stories time capsule feature for the end of the year. The feature makes use of the platform’s Stories Archive, allowing users to customize and choose up to ten stories to share with their followers. Users must have posted more than three stories this year or have Stories Archive turned on to be eligible for this feature. Instagram suggests Playback posts for you, but you can also choose what you want to share. Users can access the new feature for the next “several weeks.”
