India Launches Truecaller Fraud Insurance for Users of iOS and Android
On Thursday, Truecaller revealed an insurance protection plan designed to shield subscribers from mobile fraud. The Truecaller Fraud Insurance plan is available to users who have paid for the Android and iOS versions of the app. Initially launched in India, the new strategy will eventually be extended to other countries. The caller ID platform and HDFC Ergo have teamed to provide consumers in India with insurance protections. Notably, the business released the Call Scanner tool last month using artificial intelligence (AI) to stop voice scams using AI.

“Truecaller is today announcing the launch of Truecaller Fraud Insurance,” the business stated in a newsroom post. The product is available to premium customers and will be made available to iOS and Android users in India initially. Announcing the insurance product, it highlighted that it was introduced to safeguard Truecaller users from online fraud and scams.
As a joint venture between HDFC and ERGO International, HDFC Ergo is an insurance firm in India that offers the Truecaller Fraud Protection. Users will be covered for a total of Rs. 10,000 under the arrangement. Users who choose to opt in will be able to activate this fraud coverage, which is embedded within the app. The corporation withheld information regarding the conditions under which an insurance claim may be made or the proof that policyholders must provide to get the agreed-upon amount.
Not everyone will be able to use the feature, though. The product will only be available to its yearly subscribers, despite the company’s statement that it is exclusively for Premium subscribers. Those who are not eligible this way will be given an option to upgrade their plan to get the benefits.
The business further mentioned that Truecaller Fraud Insurance is provided at no cost to subscribers of specific plans. Lastly, subscribers to Truecaller Family have the option to increase protection to include every member.
