Grubtech, UAE Foodtech Startup Launches Operation in Egypt
Following successful operations in 17 locations throughout the world, Grubtech, a leading tech and cloud kitchens management solutions company located in the United Arab Emirates, has announced plans to open operations in Cairo, Egypt.
Grubtech, the winner of the best food technologies platform award in 2021, has appointed Osama Harfoush as its national manager, who will oversee the company’s expansion ambitions in Egypt and carry out its local market strategy.
Grubtech, founded in 2019 by Mohamed El-Fayed, Mohamed Hamidi, and Omar El-Refa’ie, is a cloud and dark kitchen solutions platform that enables its clients to digitize operations and management of online food orders, as well as providing marketing and sales tools and extending in-depth data analyses for restaurants, thereby reducing expenses and catalyzing business growth.
“I am ecstatic to be commencing our business in Egypt, which is one of the region’s most important markets.” Egypt’s food and beverage industry is progressing in terms of digitization and expansion. According to Mohamed El-Fayed, Co-Founder and CEO of Grubtech, “there is a big number of restaurants in the local market serving a large proportion of the country’s population, which is a wonderful potential for Grubtech to assist its clients by providing an easy-to-use integrated system.”
El-Fayed noted that starting work in Egypt is part of Grubtech’s operational expansion strategy, noting that Egypt has a large number of restaurants that offer online ordering/delivery as well as e-payments via Point of Sale (PoS) systems.
According to El-Fayed, Grubtech wants to invest $5 million in the Egyptian market over the next 12-18 months, with Egypt serving as its hub to the African market.
Those restaurants face a variety of difficulties. According to El-Fayed, “grubtech cutting-edge technology addresses all of them and gives a sign-off solution to improving, speeding, and boosting the quality of service delivery.”
“Grubtech has a huge possibility to expand in the Egyptian market by forming partnerships with a variety of successful partners, such as restaurants, aggregators, and delivery service providers.” “Through one unified platform, Grubtech’s innovative solutions help restaurants decrease expenses and accelerate order delivery, as well as cloud and data analysis capabilities that enable clients to review their operations for the better experience that the Egyptian citizen deserves,” Harfoush said.
“The Egyptian market is immense; it has hundreds of thousands of restaurants and has a great potential,” Harfoush continued.
“For many eateries, the Egyptian consumer’s experience with online food delivery poses a lot of problems and complications.” We believe that the solutions Grubtech offers for dark kitchens will solve these issues and improve the overall experience for both the client and the restaurant. As a result, we intend to be a long-term participant in Egypt’s food and beverage business,” Harfoush added.
