Google Unveils AI First Accelerator Program to Support African Startups
African startups have a history of developing solutions specifically suited to the problems facing the region.
Their unwavering energy, inventiveness, and tenacity have improved countless lives across the continent by not only addressing urgent problems but also acting as engines for economic progress. The emphasis continues to be on purpose-driven innovation, from facilitating farmers’ access to money to expediting insurance procedures with contemporary technology.
The Google for Startups Accelerator: Africa was introduced in 2018. Since then, we have partnered with 106 businesses from 17 different African countries, creating environments that have boosted their efforts, attracted finance, and created job opportunities.
We have seen firsthand the tenacity and drive of African companies on this quest to address difficulties across the continent. They have a fantastic opportunity to improve their inventions and expand their ground-breaking ideas thanks to AI. For this reason, we’re excited to announce the “Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First” program, a 10-week equity-free accelerator program for firms up to series A that are based in Africa or developing solutions with a focus on the continent using AI and machine learning. In order to help businesses succeed in the quickly changing AI and technology world, the accelerator intends to connect the greatest Google products and professionals.
