Google releases Gemini in Android Studio to help with coding.
Google said today that Gemini Pro is being included to Android Studio’s bot, demonstrating how the firm is continuing to push out Gemini to more products.
Powered on the PaLM-2 foundation model, the business unveiled Studio Bot in May 2023 at the Google I/O developer event. For the Jellyfish edition of Android Studio, the company is launching Gemini in more than 180 countries.
Google also upgraded the Bard chatbot’s base model from PaLM-2 to Gemini Pro in February.
Similar to the Studio Bot, developers can ask questions about coding to the new Gemini bot, which resides in the IDE (integrated development environment).
According to the organization, developers should observe better quality responses when it comes to code completion, debugging, locating pertinent resources, and producing documentation.
According to Google, users will need to log in and specifically enable Gemini in order to utilize it for privacy-related concerns. Additionally, the developer’s context and conversation history have a major role on the chatbot’s responses.
According to the business, developers can quickly incorporate generative AI-powered features into their apps by using Android Studio to access the Gemini API Starter template.
Google is adamant about competing with programs such as GitHub Copilot in its many developer-focused offerings. It debuted the PaLM-2-based Codey assistant last year to respond to questions regarding Google Cloud Services and programming.
