Five Vice-Chancellors of Nigeria Universities Confirmed for National Software Conference and Competition-Tinapa 2013
Our latest report on the forth coming National Software Conference and Competition 2013 is that the Vice Chancellors of University of Ibadan, University of Calabar, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger Delta University and Covenant University have confirmed their readiness to discuss the Keynote of Prof. Emeritus Tapio Varis, the UN Chair on e-Learning who will arrive the country in October to engage the ICT Community at the up-coming National Software Conference – Tinapa 2013, organized by the Institutes of Software Practitioners of Nigeria (ISPON) in partnership with the Government of Cross River State.
The 2-day event is scheduled for 22-23 October, 2013 at the Tinapa Knowledge City, Tinapa, Calabar, Cross River State.
They will join Dr. Ernest Anene Ndukwe – Chairman of Open Media and former EVC of NCC, Prof. Pat. Utomi of Central for Value in Leadership, Hon. Amb. Nkoyo Esu Toyo of the Federal House of Representative and Ms. Babara James CEO of Henshaw Capital Partnesr as the select Expert Group to discuss the special Keynote.
Prof. Tapio Varis brings unique expertise in e-learning solutions. He is the chair of professional education, with an emphasis on global learning environments, at the Research centre for vocational Education, University of Tampere. Finland, and the UNESCO Chair in Global e-Learning. He is a Principal Research Associate at UNSECO international Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, and member of the Governing Board of the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education, the European Commission Media literacy Expert Group, and the Digital Literacy Expert Group. He is also the acting President of Global University System (GUS) and a media Scholar at the Universities of Helsinki and Lapland well as the University of Art and Design in Helsinki. He is media education expert of the Finnish Board of Film Classification, and the Ministry for Education, and a contributor to the Media Literacy education activities of Alliance of civilization Forums of UN.
