Egyptian Healthcare Start-Up, Doxx Secures $1.5Million in Seed Round
Doxx launches a digital platform in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, connecting medical professionals and institutional healthcare providers such as pharmacies, labs, scans, and insurance companies to support the patient’s medical journey, increase accuracy, and improve service quality while lowering healthcare costs.
The startup raised $1.5 million in a seed round headed by VC Openner, with plans to expand to meet the requirements of patients.
“We developed a comprehensive and inclusive platform, putting the patients’ needs at the center of our focus while providing benefits to all healthcare stakeholders and participants, guided by our commitment to close the gap between patients and the healthcare community and increase quality-of-care delivery.” Doxx is a single-source care software that is trusted by both patients and doctors. We assist patients to take charge of their journey and medical needs by providing a single, easy-to-use platform that will be their lifelong companion that addresses their healthcare needs beyond booking features and prescription fulfillment.” According to Sherif Broudy, Doxx’s Founder and CEO.
“We believe Doxx has created a truly outstanding technology that is far superior to any existing point solutions, focusing on the patient while providing value for all healthcare stakeholders and value chain participants.” Our decision to capitalize Doxx to assure a successful go-to-market launch and sustainable growth was driven by the team’s deep knowledge of the market and a mission to enhance the patient journey with assistance from a sustainable business.” According to Ash Rofail, Founder and General Partner of VC Openner.
Doxx has acquired 2600 doctors, 18 Polyclinics, 52 pharmacies, 26 medical labs, and 10 scan facilities in the last four months, thanks to its fundamental message of patient empowerment.
Doxx, based in Cairo, is looking to expand its value-added services, which currently include home nursing, polyclinic visits, home visits, and in-clinic visits, as well as several signature initiatives aimed at older patients who require round-the-clock teleconsultation, home nursing, at-home doctors’ visits, and chronic patient care. Through its extensive network of pharmaceutical partners, the app also attempts to provide affordable medication.
“As medical professionals and doctors, it has always been our aim to be able to follow our patients’ medical histories and files; it is critical to be able to diagnose and prescribe the appropriate therapy, and Doxx delivers game-changing capabilities that put the patients first.” Patients’ information, medical prescriptions, and doctor’s appointments are all freely accessible through Doxx, which is why Doxx is sponsored by Egyptian doctors who believe that with the appropriate tools, Egypt can revolutionize its healthcare system.” Heba Saher Hashem, a neurology consultant and Doxx investor, stated.
Doxx also allows medication delivery and other services through the application and is set to expand in the next few months to cover several governorates outside the greater Cairo region.
