Career 180, an Egyptian ed-tech startup, has received a $200k investment.
Career 180, a Cairo-based ed-tech platform, has raised US$200,000 from EdVentures to expand its services and user reach.
Career180, which was founded in 2016, assists young people in developing their skills for the labor market through counseling services, workshops, and theoretical or practical training programs in a variety of specialties.
The startup, which provides career counselling videos and a variety of other services on its website, has now received US$200,000 in funding from ed-tech focused VC firm EdVentures to help it develop a new employment platform. Career 180 intends to combine that platform with its Freelance Yard offering to create an integrated platform that provides youth with employment and qualification services for all job types.
Career 180 also intends to improve its career advising services and expand its training programs, with the goal of training one million trainees and assisting 300,000 users in finding suitable job opportunities.
“We are always looking for ways to empower youth, which is why we were excited to do a new round of investment in Career 180.” “Through the various training programs offered by this platform, youth will be able to find job opportunities while also developing their skills and capabilities,” said Dalia Ibrahim, the founder and CEO of EdVentures, which also backed Career 180 in 2019.
