Apply: TeamApt’s Women in Tech internship in partnership with Ingressive for Good
TeamApt, one of Nigeria’s leading Fintechs that provides a financial platform for businesses, is now accepting applications for its ‘The Apt 5’ 2022 Women in Tech internship program.
This year, it is leveraging the Ingressive for Good community to ensure that as many women as possible have access to opportunity.
With over 150,000 businesses and 16 million end-users in Nigeria using TeamApt’s products Moniepoint and Monnify on a monthly basis, the company is dedicated to ensuring access and growth for the underserved. This Women in Tech paid internship program aligns with the organization’s mission of providing financial happiness to all by providing the tools they need to succeed.
In order to achieve their mission of increasing the earning power of African youths through tech training and the power of work, Ingressive for Good has built a community of over 100,000 people, trained 80,000 people, and driven women-focused tech training for African youths. The partnership for this internship program was made possible due to their strong foundation in the African tech ecosystem.
Technology is at the heart of business and daily life, and it takes a diverse set of skills to create and maintain these applications. As everyone is reminded this Women’s Day to break the bias, opportunities like these are critical for the industry and the economy as a whole.
“We are committed to building the tech talent pipeline across Africa and have partnered with a number of universities to do so, but it is not lost on us that the tech industry is still heavily dominated by men.” This program ensures that more women have access to opportunities that will help them advance their careers in technology. Some interns from the previous cohort are now full-time engineers with the organization, demonstrating the exact pace of growth that this enables.” said Edidiong Uwemakpan, TeamApt’s Director of Brand and Corporate Communications.
“According to UNDP, women held only 28% of tech jobs in Sub-Saharan Africa in 2019. Because of the efforts of tech companies such as TeamApt in placing people, that number has now risen to 30 percent – 31 percent. Training and mentorship are excellent, but we need more tech companies to boldly assist women in launching their tech careers by providing them with opportunities to gain experience based on their learning. Aside from panels and words, bold and direct action, such as this one, makes a significant difference. We’ve seen women’s lives change forever because of a single internship.
A woman in our community now earns ten times what she did last year as a result of a tech internship that catapulted her tech career and landed her a full-time position. So, if you know a woman who would benefit from this, please inform her. We are honored to be a driving force behind such an important initiative.” Blessing Abeng, Cofounder of Ingressive for Good, made a statement.
Women are encouraged to visit the TeamApt career page today and apply until Tuesday, March 22nd, 2021. They may be offered full-time employment within the organization based on their performance.
