Application is now Open for Chat for Impact Accelerator, an Initiative to help African Startups Scale Their Impact on WhatsApp
The Chat for Impact Accelerator, which provides social change organizations with access to US$500,000 in financing and extra support to increase their impact on WhatsApp, is now accepting applications.
Global social change-oriented businesses are asked to submit an application for the accelerator’s 2022 iteration, which will offer funding, mentoring, and support for the development of a WhatsApp messaging service to increase their effect.
One of the 10 online Chat for Impact bootcamps, which will each focus on a particular location or area of social impact, will be attended by 100 organizations as part of the initiative. Each of these organizations will receive assistance and resources in order to sign up for, create, and launch a WhatsApp Chat service.
When the six-week online Chat for Impact Accelerator begins in October, up to 20 organizations will be chosen to receive US$25,000 in funding support and participate. During this time, they will receive specialized mentoring to help them further develop and scale their WhatsApp service for social change.
The program comes to a close with the 2022 Chat for Impact Summit, where the selected accelerator participants will give a presentation and demo of their WhatsApp chat service.
Ben Supple, head of civic engagement for WhatsApp at Meta, stated, “We’re happy to continue Chat for Impact, in conjunction with Praekelt.org and Turn.io, to support and advance the work of social impact organizations across the globe. “The accelerator is an amazing chance to work closely with a small group of organizations to expand the impact and reach of their WhatsApp service. We are excited to see what these organizations produce and the impact they have.
Applications are open here until September 21.
