Application is now for the Open Equity Funding From Digital Africa, $48k Awaits Francophone African Startups
Early-stage businesses operating in francophone African nations are eligible to apply for equity capital from Fuzé, a Digital Africa investment facility, up to EUR50,000 (US$48,000).
President Emmanuel Macron introduced the Digital Africa initiative in 2018, a French government-backed organization that supports African tech entrepreneurs.
Businesses can receive EUR20,000 (US$19,000) in capital through Fuzé, which is now open to startups from Rwanda, Morocco, Senegal, the Ivory Coast, and Tunisia but will soon be available throughout all of Francophone Africa. This funding is followed by a EUR30,000 (US$29,000) SAFE investment.
The space is reserved for business owners that are developing or have just launched a tech startup; these businesses must be under 18 months old. They must also have a tech component in their product or business plan, have operations in a French-speaking African country, and have been created or co-founded by at least one citizen of those nations.
