AfriTech StartupBootcamp and Telecel are now accepting applications for the second ASIP accelerator
Startupbootcamp AfriTech and Telecel Group have opened applications for the second edition of the Africa Startup Initiative Programme (ASIP), which provides funding and support to selected companies.
Startupbootcamp AfriTech was founded in 2017 as the first pan-African startup accelerator backed by multiple corporations. In March, Disrupt Africa announced a partnership with telecoms firm Telecel Group to launch the Africa Startup Initiative Programme, which aims to support the next generation of early-stage African tech startups disrupting a variety of industries.
ASIP‘s mission is to support young startups with innovative ideas that make a difference in their communities, and ten startups were chosen for the first program in June. Selected businesses receive $18,000 in equity funding as well as $750,000 in credits, services, and in-kind value.
The accelerator’s second edition is now accepting applications for the next generation of African startups disrupting industries such as agri-tech, fintech, IoT and connectivity, machine learning, cybersecurity, clean-tech, and reg-tech.
The Government of Senegal, through DER/FJ, a youth and women empowerment structure established by the President of the Republic of Senegal, is one of the cohort’s partners. With the assistance of DER/FJ, startups will gain public-sector knowledge and support, allowing them to scale their impact even further.
Applications are being accepted until January 28, with the three-month program beginning in April. Apply here.
