Origin Stories Set to Celebrate African Entrepreneurs
Origin Stories, a brand-new live theater and media event in Cape Town, is bringing attention to the genuine, unvarnished experiences of African entrepreneurs.
Origin Stories, which takes place at the Homecoming Center, the former Athol Fugard Theatre in District Six, brings ten business owners together to discuss the pivotal events that influenced both their businesses and their personal lives.
Origin Stories gives spectators a close-up view of the humans behind innovation by fusing the emotional impact of theater with the wisdom of a TED Talk. Instead of using a sales pitch, each founder takes the stage to share their story with courage, honesty, and vulnerability.
“We wanted to build a stage where African founders could speak honestly about their journeys; the struggles, the resilience, the breakthroughs,” said Will Green, curator of Origin Stories and well-known ecosystem builder behind Will’s Green Walks and Co.lab.
“These are stories of resilience, creativity, and purpose. They remind us why Africa’s entrepreneurial spirit is one of the most powerful forces in the world.”
Founders from a wide range of industries, including technology, sustainability, design, and community innovation, will be present at the event. In order to create an unforgettable experience, each profoundly personal narrative is told live on stage with the help of immersive sound design and cinematic images.
After the live event, Origin Stories will develop into a multimedia platform that will reach audiences throughout Africa and the world through podcasts, short documentaries, and recorded presentations.
The long-term goal is to establish a global platform for African founder stories, presenting genuine accounts that motivate investors, entrepreneurs, and aspirants everywhere.
According to Green, “entrepreneurship is not just about raising money; it’s about raising belief.” “We’re increasing global trust in African innovation by sharing these stories.”
Tickets are available here, and the event is scheduled on November 12.
