First Bank Strengthens Digital Transformation Drive with Launch of New Xperience Centre in Abuja

First Bank, the West African premier financial institution and financial inclusion services provider, has reaffirmed its commitment to driving digital transformation in the banking sector with the commissioning of its 7th fully automated branch, the FirstBank Digital Xperience Centre (DXC) at Area 10, Garki Abuja.
The Centre is designed to deliver seamless, paperless, and customer-driven financial services across the country.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, the Group Chief Executive Officer, Olusegun Alebiosu, said the initiative reflects the bank’s forward-looking strategy to provide convenient, secure, and innovative self-service options in line with global digital banking trends.

“For us at First Bank, the future is digital. What we are building is the bank of the future,” Alebiosu stated. “Account opening is now digital, and customers can do almost everything on their phones. For services like cash deposits, the Digital Xperience Centre offers a 24/7 self-service alternative, even on weekends.”
He noted that the bank has made significant investments in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence to detect irregular transactions and prevent fraud, emphasizing a tripartite security confirmation system involving account details, biometrics, and phone numbers.

The Group CEO revealed that First Bank currently operates seven Digital Xperience Centres nationwide, with the eighth set to open in Kano, and expansion plans underway for Nsukka, Benin, and Ibadan.
Commending the initiative, Senator Babangida Hussaini (Jigawa North-West) described the Centre as “a model for digital banking excellence,” urging other financial institutions to emulate First Bank’s proactive approach to innovation and security.

Group Executive, Retail Banking North Division, Idris Ado Ibrahim, said the Centres will improve operational efficiency, reduce waiting time, and enhance customer satisfaction. Customers present at the event expressed optimism that the initiative will further improve service quality and convenience.
The latest FirstBank Digital Xperience Centre (DXC) is a significant leap by the bank towards revolutionizing the banking industry in the country as it is a state-of-the-art hub which puts customers at an advantage in experiencing worldclass innovative banking services thereby exploring the future of banking firsthand.
