Applications for Visa’s “She’s Next” initiative are being accepted from SA startups

The world leader in digital payments, Visa, has opened applications for its She’s Next program to South African female-run businesses in collaboration with Absa, one of Africa’s biggest providers of varied financial services.
Through networking opportunities, specialized training, mentorship, and grant financing, the She’s Next program aims to create an inclusive and equal environment for women-led businesses.
“Visa is committed to helping women develop and excel in business. Through She’s Next, we aim to encourage and enable even more participation of women in driving the economy, in line with our goal to digitally enable as many small businesses around the world as possible, while also creating a supportive environment in which they can grow and thrive,” said Lineshree Moodley, country head at Visa South Africa.
Applications are being accepted for a share of more than ZAR1 million (US$55,000) in grant financing, and eligible women entrepreneurs from all sectors and industries in South Africa are invited to apply. Along with the cash awards, Visa and Absa are organizing training and capacity-building events as part of the initiative.
The deadline for applications is July 30.
