Applications for Google’s Startups Accelerator Africa program are being accepted from African AI businesses

The Google for Startups Accelerator Africa program is now accepting applications. It is a three-month program that supports early-stage firms that use artificial intelligence (AI) to tackle the most important issues facing Africa.
The Google for Startups Accelerator Africa program was launched in 2018 and has since helped 140 startups from over 17 African nations. Seed to Series A African entrepreneurs developing AI-first solutions are now eligible to apply for the program.
Startups need a clear vision for ethical AI innovation, a working product, and at least one founder of African heritage. Selected participants will gain access to a global network of investors, partners, and collaborators, receive up to US$350,000 in Google Cloud credits, receive specialized technical mentorship from Google and industry experts, and attend workshops on technology, product strategy, people leadership, and AI implementation.
“Africa’s problem solvers are startups.” According to Folarin Aiyegbusi, head of Google’s startup ecosystem for Africa, “they can scale their impact far beyond local communities with the right resources.” “This program reflects our conviction that, when shaped by individuals who possess a thorough understanding of the context, AI can be transformative.”
