WhatsApp Adds Stickers, New Camera Effects, and a Message Reaction Shortcut
WhatsApp has improved its appearance and added new features to provide users more inventive private conversation alternatives. Users can now alter their movies and photographs in chats with 30 distinct graphic effects on the Meta-owned instant messaging network. To increase platform interaction, the app also makes it simpler to turn selfies into stickers. Additionally, sticker packs can now be shared straight to conversations. Additionally, a new shortcut for responding to a chat has been created by WhatsApp.
WhatsApp Launches New Functionalities
WhatsApp revealed its 2025 features and updates in a blog post on Tuesday. You can now add 30 background filters and effects to your images and videos on the well-known messaging app.
Originally unveiled in October of last year for WhatsApp video calls, the filters and backgrounds feature has now been extended to WhatsApp’s camera. These filters can alter backgrounds or change colors. This feature is already available on Snapchat, WhatsApp’s main messaging competitor.
Second, by tapping on the Sticker symbol, WhatsApp users may now instantly convert their selfie into a sticker. When you select the “Create sticker” button, a camera option will appear, allowing you to take a selfie right then and there and make your own sticker. Only WhatsApp for Android currently has the selfie stickers functionality, but iOS will soon follow.
Additionally, WhatsApp is introducing the ability to share sticker packs straight within chats. Last but not least, WhatsApp is introducing a new feature that allows you to double-tap a message and swiftly navigate through your most often used reactions. Compared to the current tapping and holding method for responding to chat, this user interface is simpler.
