African Tech Entrepreneurs Set Out on Innovation Tour in Korea
In search of investment and knowledge from the nation’s cutting-edge digital ecosystem, twenty bright young entrepreneurs from African technology ventures and enterprise support organizations have set out on a two-week study trip of the Republic of Korea.
These young entrepreneurs were chosen by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Lab of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) from among the 133 businesses that took part in the Africa Tech Startup Forum last month.
During the week-long virtual market access and acceleration program, which prepared, trained, and connected technology ventures with opportunities, the forum chose entrepreneurs who presented the best business models. The event was organized under the lab’s “Leveraging the Entrepreneurial and Innovation Success of Korea to Strengthen African Enterprise Support” project.
The delegates, who are from eight African countries—Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, and Uganda—represent a variety of industries. They will visit esteemed establishments like the Global Startup Center, LG Science Park, the Korea Software Technology Association, and the Global Digital Innovation Network.
Because Korea has made significant technological advancements, I am thrilled to visit the nation. Uche Ezadinachi, the founder of the Kenya-based health technology company Zuri Health, stated, “This tour is an opportunity for me to see how we can bring such technology to Africa,” as the nation is a technologically advanced civilization.
“Our Korean counterparts will learn from us just as much as we learn from them; we will share our experiences with them.”
