Meta Partners With Ingressive for Good to Unveil a Digital Marketing Scholarship Program
Meta, in cooperation with Ingressive for Good, an edtech organization dedicated to enhancing the earning potential of African youth in the tech industry, is awarding scholarships to at least 5,000 young people in Nigeria, South Africa, Côte d’Ivoire, and Kenya to help them succeed in their digital careers.
This dynamic cooperation intends to meet the industry’s growing demand for digital marketing abilities while also providing African youth with the information and expertise they need to compete on a global basis. The digital marketing scholarship program, meticulously crafted by Meta and Aptly professionals and available on Coursera, offers a complete introduction to digital marketing across all major social media platforms. Learners from all over the world can take advantage of this unique training opportunity.
After successfully completing the program, participants will go on a transformative 30-day job readiness bootcamp, where they will learn crucial soft skills and have unique access to industry thought leaders for mentorship and advice.
Ingressive for Good, known for its transformative efforts in Africa’s tech ecosystem, has collaborated with Meta to build a pool of highly qualified people that will lead innovation and drive growth across a wide range of businesses.
Sean Burrowes, Cofounder of Ingressive for Good, expressed his excitement about the relationship, saying, “We’re thrilled to once again be partnering with Meta after the resounding success we had last year.” We are optimistic that this year’s program will have an even greater impact on the learners and the communities around them.”
At the end of the most recent cohorts, more than 30% of program graduates found work. Beyond job placements, some formed strong community relationships and established their own marketing business. Gladys Chibanda, a young entrepreneur from Zimbabwe, shows the program’s effectiveness. Unable to afford college after high school, she began making stationery with African prints to help support herself and her family. She went on to work as a campaign manager after finishing the school, earning four times her initial salary.
Balkissa Ide Siddo, Public Policy Director for Africa at Meta, emphasized the importance of the program and Meta’s commitment to upskilling and empowering African youths, stating, “At Meta, we constantly support education and skills development which is why our programs are focused on supporting the African Union Youth Decade Plan of Action, which places a high priority on education, skills training, and youth employment and entrepreneurship. Through this scholarship program in partnership with Ingressive for Good, we are providing crucial resources and mentorship to equip young individuals with sought-after digital marketing skills, empowering them to thrive in their professional journeys and positively impact their communities.”
