Applications are accepted for the Western Cape Digital Business Technology and Innovation Support Fund.
The Western Cape’s Department of Economic Development and Tourism (DEDAT) has opened applications for its Business Technology & Innovation Support Fund, which aims to address the issue of low productivity in Western Cape firms and exceed international standards through the use of technology and digital transformation.
The Western Cape Government’s Growth for Jobs Strategy aims to establish the province as Africa’s tech, financial, innovation, and design capital through strong business, government, and community innovation.
“The competitiveness of the Western Cape in a future, digitally transformed world will depend on the ability of the technology and innovation sector to contribute more significantly to the digital transformation of enterprises and to create jobs and economic value through the establishment and development of digital businesses – from startups to scale-ups to corporates,” the statement said.
“The approach to drive up productivity improvements through technology adoption in Western Cape firms, along with the complementary business/management support across the province is multifaceted.”
DEDATs’ Business Technology & Innovation Programme for Productivity Boost has developed a fund to promote activities in two categories: individual firms and intermediaries that provide business support programmes.
